Berlin electronic producer Calcou burst onto the scene a couple of weeks ago with his infectiously epic debut release ‘LFOst‘. He follows up that wicked first single with the deeply thought-provoking ‘Colors on Screen’ featuring GRIP TIGHT. This is a man making some real headway, due to the fact that his music is of such a high standard. This latest installment has gone down a treat on the blogger radar, reaching number five on the SubmitHub charts already. This high rank suggests that Calcou is making all the right sounds so early on under the moniker.
I have always been a huge fan of ambient and down-tempo Electronic music, Listening to artists like Kiasmos and Bonobo ever since I was a child. This fella ticks all the right boxes in my eyes and I would confidently place his early releases on the same lofty pedestal as the aforementioned duo in my estimations already. Calcou operates in the minimal electronic/ down-tempo category. His music is extremely well produced and skillful.
