ETHOS: The Sound Sniffer is wholly committed to supporting grassroots and Independent musicians through inviting artists we truly believe in to perform shows with us around London. It seems stereotypical to state our aim is to create a community, every single blog and label says this, but we are trying very hard to encourage a collaborative space for musicians and music lovers to exist. A space where nobody feels skeptical or shy of interacting and working together. We are transparent and aim to assist those operating on a DIY basis rather than those wrapped into complicated arrangements with third parties.
The Sound Sniffer is a music blog which is still only a baby – Founded by Kevin Coakley in early 2019. The site prides itself on quality content and only tracks that really carry an impact will be featured on the blog. Kevin also ghostwrites books! The Sound Sniffer hosts regular events and showcases picked from the submissions inbox.
The Sound Sniffer is proud to have a monthly residency at The Finsbury and in late 2021 set up Community Sessions – a showcase gig night raising money for the homeless. All artists who are invited to perform are paid, entry is always free and all donations collected at the door go to All People All Places, a superb organisation creating comfortable accommodation spaces for those less fortunate.
