KESMAR – Mistake

We have some hella nice and cheerful indie electro to share with you this afternoon. This was a nailed on addition to our summer playlist as soon as we heard the first verse. Well regarded Sydney musician Nathan Howes is the creator. This lad has been pleasing crowds in Australia for well over a decade now, his latest moniker KESMAR is right up my street. He has that bubbling style of Metronomy and we are loving the bouncy Mistake on this glorious sun-baked London Thursday.

Originally Hawes was a folk singer/songwriter for years but after participating in some new writing sessions in 2016, he fell in love with the chirpy sound of electro pop. His desire to put major emphasis on the vibrant sound of vintage synthesizers was established and his new musical direction was born. Since taking his place in this new style, he has molded his sound through listening to the eclectic LANKS and Seekae. His distinct sound is not too dissimilar to that of the aforementioned LANKS, Hawes uses slightly experimental elements in his production. Mistake has some pretty cool out-of-the-box clinks and clanks in the back beat.

Mistake is the second single from his maiden EP titled Up To You. The EP is a very listenable collection from this exciting and polished Aussie. I have been listening to LANKS on repeat for the last few years. It’s great to have another bright Australian electro pop artist to put in the shuffle. I really think you will all enjoy this one. KESMAR has gone under the radar somewhat with this EP. Don’t miss out too.
