The Sound Sniffer’s Electronic Selections for The Long Weekend

With the sun belting down on London this long weekend, we have compiled a little list of essential new electronic releases for you to peruse while you enjoy the break. These three tracks are nestled in my playlist as I travel into Notting Hill tomorrow afternoon for the Carnival. This week we feature brand new stuff from Turkish producer Graumann, Chilean songmaker Tomas Novoa and a deft remix by Rohne.

Graumann – Purler

To kick start our little list this weekend we begin with a new one from Turkish producer Graumann. The track was sent to us via fellow music blog Mercurial Tones. We are thankful they sent it our way. This lad is based in the bustling capital of Istanbul and alongside up and coming artists like Aleksandir, it’s safe to say that the city’s dance scene is in good hands. Purler is a progressive track in the mold of Rico Puestal and Joris Delacroix. The subtle bassline and chirping melodies ensured that this song was an instant banker into our weekend list.

Tomas Novoa – Arrecife

Chilean songmaker Tomas Novoa has just released a beautiful downtempo composition, titled Arrecife, this week. This is a really classy shoe-gaze production that definitely takes influence from the works of Christian Löffler. I adore the meandering languid tempo of Arrecife, and have had it on repeat since getting it stuck in my earphones.  I hear shades of his fellow countryman Nicolas Jaar in the production too. Check it out below.

Henry Green – Stay Here (Rohne Remix)

We have probably saved the best to last here with this stunningly compiled remix from Rohne. This mix of British vocalist Henry Green‘s single Stay Here is an instant earworm. The track is dark and pensive and brings me back to the days listening to Trentemöller religiously growing up. The vocals heard throughout are so catchy. I am not normally a huge fan of remixes but this one was of too high a production quality to overlook. Rohne has hit the nail on the head here with the one. If you have time, please check out Bristol based Henry Green‘s other matierial – he is a very underrated vocalist.
