One of the songs we have been most excited about being released this week comes from Swedish artist Simeon Pappinen Hillert. The Gothenburg based sound engineer has just embarked on his first solo project titled Silverapplen. Hillert, over the years, has toured with many of the countries biggest pop artists. His expertise has seen him perform in over 30 countries during this time. He is a very well respected face on the Swedish music scene and has now moved into solo work for the first time.
Love Would Tear Us Apart is a single ripped from his upcoming debut EP ‘Pretentious LoFi inc‘ which will be released in the coming months. The EP features exciting collabs with respected artists like Sir Was, Annelie and Gustaf Karlof (Niki & The Dove). This single is such an uplifting and chirpy little thing. Plucky synth-y melodies, occasional horns and pretty neat harmonies. I am a big fan of this fella already and we have been bouncing around to the pre-release for weeks now. I have a feeling that this guy will go a long way with this unique sounding solo project. One of my favourite debut tracks of the year.
