We have compiled our top five electronic tracks from this week for you here! We have been blessed with some rasping little gems – there is so much unheralded quality out there. This week we feature tunes from American LoFi producer Wavelayer // Norwegian beat merchant Simon S // UK grown Down-tempo from Mattr // Irish minimal artist Gadget and The Cloud // a new release from previously featured Chilean Tomas Novoa.
5// Mattr – ZeroX

As mystical and melodic as it gets here from UK born, Berlin based techno producer Mattr. I caught wind of this one last night and was blown away by it’s scarily hypnotic murmurings. I nearly fell into a deep trance whilst listening to it on my train journey home from the city. I have a feeling this one will be accompanying me on more trips home in the near future. Emotive and Brooding – perfect for train-gazing. Cheers sir.
4 // Simon S – Stranger

Norway is where we find Simon S bouncing away in his studio, producing powerful and playful hard hitting gold. Strangers is a little heavier in tone than most others on this list but is an absolute beast of an electronic tune. I tested out our new speakers with this one and I nearly swear that I saw them smiling back at me. The artistry of this track is fantastic, what a rolling roller. Enjoy!
3 // Gadget and The Cloud – Keep You

Cork native Kelly Doherty released her debut eight song album titled ‘Songs for Sad People to Dance To’ last year and we are loving it. I have to admit, I have only come across her stuff this week. I have been listening through her back catalog and am wholly impressed. I have slept on this, now I will be sleeping with it from now on.
Having premiered on Nialler9 she has rightly received wide credit from various trusted outlets like Barry Gruff and GoldenPlec. Her style is very much in the comedown, early AM category. Melodic soundscapes and crashing thought provoking crescendos. Keep You is her latest offering and it is spellbinding. I get strong shades of Bicep off this!
2 // Wavelayer – Sparkle

New on the block. Wavelayer is an exciting Lofi house prospect coming out of the States. The kick drum is pronounced, the analog melodies are subtle and the rhythm is pure. Sparkle is a groovy little number. His work reminds me a little of Dutch analog genius Sjamsoedin. Really nice lounging tune this. Get first ears on this fella below.
1 // Tomas Novoa – Cienaga

It’s not the first time we have featured Tomas Novoa here at The Sound Sniffer. It certainly won’t be the last either. This guy is making music like Nicolas Jaar did before he went all experimental and annoying. Novoa’s mellow production style is right up my ally. Cienaga is another smooth single to add to his already impressive repertoire. He hits top spot this week. It has been a good week.
