Coracle // Naoshima Island

Coracle is the solo electronic project of Leeds born, Tokyo based, pianist Jonathan Doherty. He has been around the block within the music world since 2014, in this time, he has received numerous plaudits from respected outlets such as BBC Introducing and BBC Radio. His latest single Naoshima Island has just surfaced to the public ear after we sat patiently on it in our pre-release inbox for over two months. We are delighted to put it out in front of everyone today.

Naoshima Island is a real throwback lounge styled track. Doherty simply describes his music as ‘‘chilled beats inspired by Japanese travels’‘. The song opens with a pretty slick drum beat with subtle keys accompanying it every step of the way. The simple and effective melody brought by the keyboard is quite lush here. Throw in a few little vocals & birds chirping around, a little taste of horns and we have a really pleasant song on our hands! I’m liking the laid-back vibes of portrayed in Coracle’s production style here. He is a really solid beat-maker.

This release follows his impressive single ‘To The Deep’, which made huge headway over the summer by getting featured in both Indie Shuffle and Earmilk. His quality is not doubted in the blogging world – Lets hope the rest of the world likes this new stuff too! Check it out below!
