I don’t normally do premieres here on The Sound Sniffer – it takes a superbly impressive bank of work to warrant a feature like this. London-based producer Yescene and Downtempo/Soul vocalist Noé Solange are two artists I’ve come to love in my time in the blogosphere. They have decided to work together on a wonderful four song EP titled ‘Lost and Found‘ which has been released today. The result is a high quality collection of melancholic rhythms.
The Artists Behind The Music
Yescene

An accomplished, exciting and totally inventive music producer from Tangiers, Morocco. He is currently based in London these days and has been quietly building a niche following of late. I’ve been hellishly impressed by his music in recent times, this has culminated in three features on The Sound Sniffer over the last twelve months. I’ve featured his bouncy single ‘Make You Say it‘, his catchy piece ‘Chains‘ and the rolling, ‘Natural High‘, back in November.
It’s not often a producer hits the mark so consistently, his compositions never fail to impress. Over the lockdown period, Yescene live-streamed an interactive series of improvised cover performances (#SundayBrew). Every Sunday, he continues to treat us to some wonderful renditions of classic house tunes. He has a distinct ability to make the songs his own. In addition, his wizardly ability on the keyboard makes the content so damn engaging. It was a tough time in isolation and these videos, no doubt, put a smile on the faces of many.
This new EP is a must listen.
Noé Solange

I found Noé Solange‘s music at the turn of the year. I was scrolling through my submissions inbox on a cold January afternoon and suddenly hit a piece of warmth. Her track ‘Nocturnal Lady‘ found it’s way into my earphones and I was sold immediately. The slow and meandering tempo, the subtle vocal tones and the infectious arpeggiated synth-work had me swaying. This Dutch-born producer and singer is definitely one to watch for the future. She only he a couple of solo releases out at the moment but already has created a sound that’s most definitely her own.
Solange was due to play a showcase for The Sound Sniffer in May alongside Urchin and The Modern World. It didn’t go ahead due to the pandemic sadly. Delighted to hear her soft, chilled vocal again here on this EP.
‘Lost and Found EP’
The EP will be released tomorrow and here is an exclusive first listen. It is a fine fusion between the soft textures of Noé’s voice and the old-school house beat-work Yescene brings to the table. It’s an A-Grade four song treat.
