Lemon Power return to the release fold in 2026 with the buccaneering and roaming ‘Tanger’ – a single whose theme is firmly rooted in the sounds associated with the city of Tangier. I remember interviewing an old 1970s London rock and roller called Johnny Johnson a few years ago (JJ and the Flyers) about his travels to the city of Tangier back in the ’80s – a time where rock and rollers frequently set off to North Africa for escapades of the times — tales of narrow streets, hubba bubba pipes, and whimsical experiences littered our interview. It sounded like a magical place, a place filled with multiple personalities. Johnny’s story was a painting of what the beautiful Moroccan city is all about, and this track from Lemon Power brings the listener into the chaotically gorgeous and winding world of Tangiers through sound.
A soundscape that shifts and twists between different ideas and melodies and pretty seamlessly pulls it off. Lemon Power is making some very interesting and engaging experimental sounds, and we are all for it. It’s great to have discovered this band today, and we look forward to keeping track of their progress now!
Have a listen to Tanger below and let us know what you think of it. 🙂
