Crystal Tides – Thunder

Some refreshing UK Indie Rock from chirpy four piece Crystal Tides. Thunder has just been released today and it sounds like an ode to The Wombats. This is very well executed and pretty damn catchy.

The track opens with a single guitar accompanying the lead vocalist in an intro that reminds me of Arctic Monkeys’ 2006 iconic hit ‘When The Sun Goes Down’. The song progresses with vibrant bass, upbeat percussion and bright harmonies entering the fold. They certainly have mustered up a pretty sound indie pop style. I can’t hear much wrong with this – It’s Brit rock performed well.

I have been slightly out of the indie rock loop in recent years. This type of stuff used to be my favourite genre with Milburn, Two Door Cinema Club and Little Comets ruling the roost in my playlists. I have been drawn more into the modern electronic side of music these days. It’s nice to find a new band like Crystal Tides to push me back into the indie shuffle again.

Thunder is a really nice offering from this exciting young band. Check it out below.
