London based Irishman Moncrieff has just released his first single in over a year. Ghost is the first instalment from his upcoming EP The Only Hurts. This fella is one of those mecurial talents that can hold a room with the power of his vocals alone. I started seeing his name in and around posters and line-ups last year, I never investigated the hype. It wasn’t until I heard Ghost recently that I stopped and took a vested interest.
This is a brilliantly executed piece altogether. I get shades of Dermot Kennedy’s emotive style from it. Moncrieff has all of the traits of his fellow countryman. He played a good few festivals this summer including the picturesque Sea Sessions in Bundoran, Ireland. He is an artist on the rise, with a copious amount of musical talent to burn.
Below we drop the brilliant music video for Ghost that he made in Berlin on a shoestring budget. ‘Tis well worth a gaze.
