Another release, another Sniff. Fake Turins are back again with another whimsical melodic set of grooves today! It’s always a nice day when a new Turins tune is born. This time we are treated to the chilled out vibes of False Sympathies and the wholly impressive and delicate tones of Star Child. The word fake and false are banded around a lot by these guys in their titles, yet it’s clear to observe that there is nothing fake or false about their sound. This band are a uniquely listenable entity, I’ve been following them for months now.
Fronted by the impressive Dominic Rose, Fake Turins are a collective of vastly talented music makers, each member committed to the cause. They are aiming to create a wide creative scene in London and their infectious music is the backbone. This new singles are as smooth as silk. Rose once again offers up his poetic prowess in the forefront of things, with the band accompanying with early foals-esque guitar riffs and glitching electronic elements. False Sympathies is a wonderful song, I have been enjoying it this morning on my train journey home.
Star Child
Star Child is the icing on the cake, it’s like the late Bowie and Vampire Weekend rolled into one superb few minutes. I just can’t get enough of it. Written many moons ago, it finally surfaces and packs an emotive punch.
Fake Turins are always on the prowl around London. They are gigging, curating events and supporting the arts in general. They are celebrating the release of their two song digital EP tonight (27th September) at The Victoria. Get the stakes on and get down to it – the gig is in association with Club.The.Mammoth. There will be a solid gathering of skins out in support I’d imagine.
