Dan Lyons // Biarritz (Ft. Clémence Quélennec)

Dan Lyons

Dan Lyons is a highly respected figure on the London music scene for the last four years or so. He is mainly known for his drumming, playing for the likes of Misty Miller (we love her) and Phobophobes. Dan has since stepped into the songwriting mode himself and formed his own self-titled band back in 2017. Biarritz is the latest offering he has conjured up and it is pretty damn nice.

Lyons has been honing his craft playing at all of London’s best venues recently. He has headlined the intimate basement at The Seabright Arms, played a gig or two at the renowned Windmill in Brixton and generally has been a face on the London scene. His latest single caught me on second listen, it is a little burner of a track. The instrumentation reminds me of something from the weird and bizarre world of Gogol Bordello and the haunting harmonies throughout are stupendous. I would love to catch this track live, it is the oxford definition of atmospheric from word go.

Check out the lovely work of Lyons below. A real gem of a thing here.
