Sniffer’s Electronic Picks // December #01

Today we give you our top Electronic tracks from the trailing week. We love a good list here at The Sound Sniffer and have curated carefully to bring you our favourite submissions from the week. Some of these will get you in the party mood, others will induce some midweek zen!

This week we feature new music from Italian duo Under:tones / a sleek throwback disco tune from Canadian band TUSH / Chill debut beats from the impressive Swiss up and comer Kappa Mountain / The new one from British brothers Model Man.

Under:Tones // 3

Italian duo Matteo Zarcone and Alex Neri come together to form the new musical moniker of Under:tones. Their debut track, titled ‘3’, has just been released and it is as smooth as silk. The pair strive to combine serene visuals with their constructions and the music video that walks alongside the song is pretty savage.

3 is a song with lots of subtle elements bound together by a growling bass line. I am a big fan of their initial sound, as an avid Kiasmos fan, this style of brooding yet dreamy soundscape tickles the ear. As debut singles go, this is high level. Fairplay.

TUSH // Don’t Be Afraid

Toronto based disco band TUSH have just released a barnstorming energetic tune this week titled ‘Don’t Be Afraid‘. If you love early noughties disco acts like Moloko and Sophie Ellis Bextor, you will fall in love with the electronically charged sound of TUSH.

Don’t Be Afraid is a throwback treat. I can imagine shuffling around the dance-floor to this without a doubt. This is a quality track that needs to be heard.

Kappa Mountain // Inheritance

Swiss duo Kappa Mountain debut with an absolutely golden instrumental piece this week. It’s not often a hip hop beat gets a feature here with us. Inheritance graces our list today as it is absolutely bliss. I listened to this one for the first time whilst sitting on the train shuttling through London, I found myself sinking into a state of tranquility. I put Kappa Mountain up with Russian producer Kicktracks at the top of my list of instrumental producers this year. Tops.

Check out the beautiful Inheritance below.

Model Man // Granular

We have featured brotherly duo Model Man on The Sound Sniffer earlier in the year with their debut track Ketones making an impression. They return again for another installment of unique piano led melancholy. The lads have really taken hold of the electronic music scene over here in the UK, I have heard their stuff playing all over the city in recent months.

Granular is their new one this week and we love it. This is a track for fans of Gold Panda!

Rob and Mark Bandon are going places!
