If anyone ever suggested that you must be situated in the centre of London or New York to see talent make it through the ranks — Just look at Bombino’s story — This Tuareg guitarist from the depths of Niger proves that concentrating on making great music eventually filters through to those who search for it. He is part of a small tribe called ‘Ifoghas’. Music brings cultures together in unity and using Bombino’s achievements thus far it’s very refreshing to see. Such an amazing artist/guitarist this fella – I have been listening intently since he wound up in front of my eyes on a rainy November Friday on ‘Later with Jools Holland‘ in 2011. You just don’t forget musicians like this once you hear them – Thank you Jools and his curators.
