Vilde – Mind The Puddles

Stockholm based Thomas Vilde has just sent a pretty class little piece our way today. Mind The Puddles is a chirpy number packed with a quivering vocal, a melancholy guitar jingle and a devilishly slick vibe. Instantly, we were absorbed by the artistry on show here.

This is like uplifting grunge indie really and I am loving it. Vilde has a vocal style that reminds me of Alt-J‘s eclectic frontman, with a high-pitched tone rippling throughout. We are delighted to see that he is dropping into the UK late August time for two cheeky gigs. He plays the basement at The Seabright Arms in London on the 30th and then Hope and Ruin, Brighton the following night. I will atempt to wrangle a few hours off to catch him for that London instalment.

If you are a fan of Alt-J i reckon you will also enjoy this fella’s style. His album Fidget at the Podium (what a name) is out now. Please check out the penultimate track on the album Into A Monologue – it’s also gloriously interesting.

A fine find, a fine album.
